Nahon Museum of Italian Jewish Art

This museum contains the transported interior of the beautiful 18th-century synagogue of Conegliano Veneto, near Venice, which is open for services on Friday evenings and on Saturday mornings. The exhibits cover the scope of Italian Jewish life and contain ritual objects from medieval times to the present; you may be able to visit the on-site workshops of a special team of Italian and Israeli artisans working to restore and preserve these treasures of Jerusalem’s Italian Jewish community. The garden and plaza in front of the complex seem to be a small piece of Italy itself.
