Jerusalem Travel Guide

Jerusalem has been the holiest city in Judaism and the spiritual center of the Jewish people since the 10th century BCE. The city contains a number of significant ancient Christian sites and is widely considered the third-holiest city in Islam.

About Jerusalem

Jerusalem covers an area of 49 sq. miles (125.1 square Km) and is estimated to have a population of 750,000 people being the capital[iii] and largest city of Israel. The city has a history that goes back as far as the 4th millennium, making it one of the oldest cities in the world.

Crowne Plaza

For more than 20 years, this landmark tower on a hill at the western edge of the city was the Jerusalem Hilton, and some Jerusalemites still refer to it as such, which makes for confusion. Public areas, though spacious, are a bit jumbled. Panoramic views from the guest rooms, all with small balconies, are a plus, but the rooms themselves, though comfortable and well equipped, are not remarkable. The location is perfect for conventions at the neighboring Binyinei Ha-Uma Convention Center, and the shopping arcade is good, but you’re far from West Jerusalem’s cafe and restaurant scene. The excellent (kosher) Kohinoor Indian Restaurant is on the premises.
